City of Northlake City Council met Aug. 18

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Aldermen Feldmann and Johnson participating in the meeting via conference bridge; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.
Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on August 4, 2025. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on August 4, 2025; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 4, 2025 CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Mayor Sherwin stated the next City Council meeting will be on September 15, 2025; there was no major flooding in the city after the latest storms; the aldermen were reminded to mark their calendars for the senior dinner on October 23rd.
Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Resolution R-15-2025; A Resolution Approving an Intergovernmental Agreement Between County of Cook and the City of Northlake Regarding Participation in the 2025 Invest in Cook Program; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Ordinance 0-19-2025; An Ordinance Approving Amendments to the Building Regulations of the City of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the Engineer's recommendation to accept the bid from Maneval Construction Co. for Ful-Roy Park Improvements Project in the amount of $342,961.80; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO APPROVE THE ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATION TO ACCEPT THE BID FROM MANEVAL CONSTRUCTION CO. FOR FUL-ROY PARK IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $342,961.80 CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to refer to the City of Northlake Zoning Board of Appeals and Plan Commission a request to build an attached garage, which requires a variance to reduce the required 6ft setback to 4ft. per Zoning R-1 Residential Pg. 31 Section 415B. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
MOTION TO REFER TO THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS AND PLAN COMMISSION A REQUEST TO BUILD AN ATTACHED GARAGE, WHICH REQUIRES A VARIANCE TO REDUCE THE REQUIRED 6FT. SETBACK TO 4FT. PER ZONING R-1 RESIDENTIAL PG. 31 SECTION 415B CARRIED
There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
