The Village of Riverside is marking its 150th anniversary by auctioning off retired street signs. Each sign, according to the Village, "represents a slice of Riverside's rich heritage." Buyers will also receive information about the history behind their chosen street name and its role in the community.
The remaining signs are available through Zeffy's online auction platform, with bidding open until Tuesday, September 16. The starting bid for each sign is $150. Funds raised will help pay for new Sesquicentennial edition street signs that will be installed across the village in 2025.
More details about the auction can be found on the Village’s official website at https://www.riverside.il.us/699/Riverside-150-Street-Sign-Auction. Specific auctions for Addison-Olmsted and Park-York street signs are listed at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/village-of-riversides-street-sign-auction and https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/street-sign-auction-park-york respectively.
