FOIA Request to Office of Hillside Village President regarding law firm contracts and invoices on June 18, 2025.
The West Cook News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Office of Hillside Village President. The request seeks access to all copies of contracts with the entity's law firms and all invoices submitted by these law firms over the past six months. This request is made under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, with a preference for receiving the documents in electronic format.
The purpose of this request is to gather information that will aid in reporting news related to local governmental affairs. As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, we are seeking these records to better inform the public about the operations and expenditures within government entities. In accordance with our role as a media organization, we have requested a fee waiver based on our function in disseminating information to the public.
The requestor is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting media companies and advocacy groups in investigating state and federal governmental agencies.
