The Oak Park Police Department has provided updates on recent activities and honored a fallen officer in a series of posts on its official X account. The department shared information regarding the retirement of Detective Allan Reddins’ badge, as well as updates on police activity summaries and crime maps.

On July 16, 2025, the Oak Park Police Department announced the retirement of Detective Allan Reddins' badge following his death in the line of duty last year. According to the post, "Last night at the Village Board meeting, the #OakPark Police Department retired Det. Allan Reddins’ badge, star 442. Det. Reddins was killed while responding to a call on November 29, 2024. The badge will be permanently displayed in the police lobby, along with six other https://t.co/JYOVbEjQkC" (posted July 16, 2025).

On July 17, 2025, two additional posts were made regarding public access to departmental information. The first stated: "The latest summaries of police activity are now posted at https://t.co/RT0ZkN6sjA and https://t.co/885uRQnK3b. https://t.co/qHkeRtqfCL". Later that day, another post added: "The crime map for the weeks of July 1 -15 is posted at https://t.co/eZieM3mIMq. https://t.co/EoYfgn3dKh".

Detective Allan Reddins was killed while responding to an emergency call on November 29, 2024. His badge joins those of six other officers who have died in service and whose badges are displayed in the department’s lobby as a memorial.
