Oak Park and River Forest High School has announced the appointment of four new head coaches for the 2025-2026 school year. The appointments include two permanent hires and two interim positions.
Jason Renteria, an alumnus from the class of 2017, has been named as the head coach for boys wrestling. During his time at Oak Park and River Forest High School, Renteria was a four-time state finalist, two-time state champion, and three-time IHSA dual state champion. From 2020 to 2023, he led Immaculate Conception College Prep's wrestling team, coaching five state champions. For the past two years, he served as an assistant coach for OPRF boys wrestling.
Symone Speech will take on the role of head coach for girls volleyball. A graduate of OPRF in 2015, Speech played Division 1 volleyball at Georgetown University and later competed professionally in Italy and Germany. Her international experience includes contributing to her team's victories in the German Cup and German Supercup during the 2021-2022 season.
Dave Bernthal will serve as interim head coach for boys soccer while Jason Fried is on leave.
Laura Turk has been appointed as interim head coach for girls cross country while Ashley Raymond is on leave.
