The Village of Riverside has announced that it received a grant from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This funding will support the development of a detailed energy plan meant to complement the village’s initial Climate Action and Resilience Plan. The energy plan is aimed at identifying methods to reduce both energy costs and the local carbon footprint.

Riverside officials seek input from residents regarding their energy challenges. Residents are encouraged to share whether their current appliances and heating or cooling options fulfill their needs and if they are experiencing increased utility bills. The village aims to find solutions for all residents, regardless of housing type, urging both single-family and multi-family property residents to take part.

Interested individuals are invited to participate by completing the Energy Needs Assessment Survey before the deadline on April 30th.
