The Oak Park Police Department has recently used its official social media account to inform the public about upcoming community events and share updates on police activity. In a series of tweets posted between July 31 and August 1, 2025, the department highlighted National Night Out, provided access to police activity summaries, and released updated crime maps.

On July 31, 2025, the department posted a message regarding National Night Out: "A special message from Pawfficer Howie regarding National Night Out. More info can be found at https://t.co/rdxoihXFTk. https://t.co/OZpEGXszYI".

The following day, on August 1, the department shared information about recent law enforcement activities: "The latest summary of police activity is now posted at https://t.co/25N25isbyO. https://t.co/WCSy9M35T8".

Later that same day, an additional update was issued concerning crime data: "The crime maps for the weeks of July 16 -31 and the month of July are posted at https://t.co/eZieM3ngBY. https://t.co/I8XG0LlcXB".

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes partnerships between law enforcement agencies and local neighborhoods to enhance safety and build trust.
