The Village of Riverside has announced the development of its inaugural Climate Action & Resilience Plan. The draft, which was presented to the Village Board on March 20, 2025, focuses on strategies to cut carbon emissions, boost community resilience, and secure the future of Riverside.
Community involvement has been central to this initiative from the start. Residents, businesses, and organizations are now encouraged to provide their feedback on the draft plan. Whether comments are brief or detailed, all input is considered valuable.
Feedback can be submitted until Friday, April 4. After incorporating public input into the document, the final version will be submitted to the Village Board for potential adoption. An open house event is planned to celebrate this achievement with the community in due course.
The plan's success hinges on local support and participation. Residents making sustainable choices and proactive actions by groups and businesses are essential components. Community voices will help shape Riverside's environmental future.
