The Village of Brookfield is preparing to launch a construction project that will bring improvements to the 3700 block of Grand Boulevard and the full length of Brookfield Avenue east of Prairie Avenue, Woodside Avenue, Parkview Avenue, and Golf Road. To facilitate communication with residents, business owners, employees, and commuters about the project's impact, a public meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2. The meeting will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Council Chamber of the Brookfield Village Hall located at 8820 Brookfield Ave.
Construction on Grand Boulevard is set to commence in mid to late April on the northeast side between the curb and buildings. This phase is expected to conclude by late May or early June. Work will then transition to the southwest side of the block with anticipated completion by mid-July. Pavement improvements within the roadway are projected to be finished by early August.
On Brookfield Avenue, construction activities are planned throughout summer into early fall. Starting at Prairie Avenue and ending at Washington Avenue, this work aims for completion by mid-October.
The Village has partnered with Edwin Hancock Engineering for this project. They are delivering detailed notices about construction impacts directly to businesses in affected areas such as Grand Boulevard's 3700 block and properties along Brookfield Avenue, Woodside Avenue, and Golf Road. Notices also reach areas including Prairie Avenue's 3700 block, Burlington Avenue's 8800 and 8900 blocks, Grant Avenue's 8800 and 8900 blocks, Forest Avenue's 3700 block, Sunnyside Avenue’s north tracks area (3700 and 3800 blocks), and Grand Boulevard’s 3600 block.
A copy of the construction notice can be accessed online along with a map detailing detour routes.
