The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Chicago area, including Brookfield. The advisory warns of potentially heavy snowfall from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12 to 3 a.m. on Thursday, February 13.

According to the advisory, "Snow, possibly heavy at times," is expected with total snow accumulations between three and six inches. The affected areas include portions of north central and northeast Illinois. The timing of the snowfall could impact travel conditions significantly, particularly during the Wednesday evening commute.

In response to the weather forecast, the Village of Brookfield announced that its Snow Parking Restrictions will be enforced once snow accumulation reaches two inches. Residents are advised to prepare for these restrictions and check street signs in their area for specific parking rules while they are in effect.

To determine if Snow Parking Restrictions are active, residents can call the snow hotline at 708-387-SNOW, visit the Village of Brookfield website or sign up for emergency alerts via text, email or phone.

For ongoing updates regarding weather conditions, individuals are encouraged to visit the National Weather Service-Chicago website.
