River Forest Police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on February 4, 2025. Officers responded to an apartment building at 7200 Oak Street following reports of a violent altercation between neighbors and guests. During the dispute, one individual was stabbed and subsequently transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where they were initially listed in critical condition.

Authorities located the suspect, Tristan Jackson, aged 28 from Oak Park, shortly after the incident. He was found in his vehicle near the 7300 block of Ogden Avenue with assistance from local law enforcement agencies. Witnesses identified Jackson as the assailant, leading to his arrest.

As of February 4 at 5:10 PM, the victim's condition has been upgraded to stable. On February 6, the Cook County State’s Attorney Felony Review Unit approved charges against Jackson for one count of Attempted Murder and one count of Aggravated Battery. Officials have stated that this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The River Forest Police Department reminds the public that "a signed complaint is not evidence of guilt" and emphasizes that all defendants are "presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law."
