The Illinois Electric Vehicle Rebate Program has reopened, offering financial incentives to residents purchasing qualifying new or used all-electric passenger vehicles and motorcycles. The program is designed to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) while providing cost savings for consumers.
Applications are currently being accepted and must be postmarked by April 30, 2025. The current funding round runs from January 21, 2025, through April 30, 2025. Residents who purchase a qualifying new or used all-electric passenger vehicle can receive a rebate of $4,000. Those opting for an all-electric motorcycle can receive a rebate of $1,500. Eligible vehicles must be purchased from an Illinois licensed dealer.
To qualify for the rebate, applicants must meet specific criteria:
- They must be Illinois residents at the time of purchase and when the rebate is issued.
- Applicants should not have previously received an Electric Vehicle Rebate.
- Vehicles need to be bought from a licensed Illinois dealer and registered with the Illinois Secretary of State.
- Rented or leased vehicles do not qualify for the rebate.
