Discussion Concerning a Request for Proposals for Potential Development at 3717-3723 Grand Blvd

Community Development Director Libby Popovic discusses the request for proposals for potential development at 3717-3723 Grand Blvd. The objective is to promote cohesive growth and ensure there is long term success. Staff began with evaluation of Brookfield's Comprehensive and Sustainability Plans to integrate them into the criteria for bids. The Village investment is $670,000 for property located in the Downtown Grand Prairie District. Community Development Director Popovic explained the guidelines for proposals that emphasize aesthetics, walkability, use, and developer qualifications. Staff recommends a 90-to-120-day timeframe for bid proposals. Comments and questions are made by President Garvey, Trustee Ketchmark, Trustee Cote, Trustee Kaluzny, and Trustee Gilhooley.
