The Public Works Department is set to begin its tree pruning operations on public right-of-ways within the designated 2024 map zone. This initiative will start tomorrow, November 7th, and continue over the following weeks. Residents and commuters are advised to be cautious while in the pruning areas, as indicated on the attached map. Signage and cones will be placed for advance notification to pedestrians and motorists. The trimming around Blythe School will occur during Thanksgiving break.

The streets included in this year's cyclic trim program are East Burlington, Herrick, Addison, Shenstone, North Cowley, North Herbert, Eastgrove, Blythe, Kent, York, Lindberg, Arlington, Leesley; Selborne from Longcommon to York; North Delaplaine from East Burlington to Longcommon; and Longcommon's east side.

The program aims to enhance tree health within the urban forest and boost public safety. Young trees will undergo pruning for structural improvement while older trees will be trimmed for sidewalk clearance and removal of deadwood. The work will be conducted under the supervision of the Public Works Department with guidelines established by the Village Forester to ensure proper tree care practices.

For any inquiries regarding the Village's cyclic tree trimming program, individuals can contact the Public Works Department at 708-442-3590.
