The Village receives Community Development Block Grant funds and Emergency Solutions Grant funds annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds are primarily used to assist low- and moderate-income persons, including those experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

These grant funds are allocated based on the Village’s five-year Consolidated Plan. The Village is currently drafting a new Consolidated Plan, which will be submitted to HUD in August 2025.

A key part of developing this plan involves engaging with stakeholders, advocates, and community members to gather their insights and feedback.

Community members can learn more about the project and provide feedback at a Town Hall meeting scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, in Room 101 at Village Hall, located at 123 Madison St.

Residents and community stakeholders can also provide input by completing an online survey at www.engageoakpark.com/consolidated-plan. The survey takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete and will help Village officials establish budget and program priorities.

The development of the Consolidated Plan is part of the Village's ongoing commitment to creating a sustainable and inclusive community for all its residents.

For more information about the Consolidated Plan, contact grants@oak-park.us or call 708.358.5410.
