The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will begin resurfacing the Forest Avenue Bridge over the Des Plaines River in the Village of Riverside on June 24, 2024. IDOT has notified the Village that this project should be completed by August 9, 2024, weather permitting.
IDOT is currently placing signage in the affected area, describing the detour for traffic once the project begins. All signs will detour traffic to 31st Street for safe entry into or exiting the Village.
The Village will provide updates as they are received from IDOT.
