MEMBERS PRESENT: Village President Michael Garvey, Village Clerk Brigid Weber, Trustee Kit Ketchmark, Trustee Kathryn Kaluzny, Trustee Edward Cote, Trustee Jennifer Hendricks, Trustee Julie Narimatsu, and Trustee Nicole Gilhooley

Discussion of a Proposal for a Community Art Exhibit in the Summer of 2024

Community Development Director Emily Egan introduces representatives from Brookfield Artist Collective. The Brookfield Artist Collective representatives explain their rain barrel proposal by referencing a bench art project in La Grange. Comments and questions are made by President Garvey and Trustees Kaluzny, Ketchmark, Gilhooley, Cote, Narimatsu,

Discussion of Case 23-10 Request for a Preliminary Planned Development for Property Located at 8845 Burlington Avenue

Village Planner Kate Portillo provides some background on the property, its proposed use, revisions to the proposed use and recommendations from the Planning and Zoning Commission. Comments and questions are made by President Garvey and Trustees Kaluzny, Hendricks, Cote, Ketchmark, and Gilhooley. The applicants and Village Manager Tim Wiberg respond to questions from the Village Board. There is additional discussion over additional parking spaces for the proposal.

Discussion of Case 23-14 Request for a Special Use Permit for the Adaptive Reuse of a Former Religious School and a Request for Variances from the Off Street Parking and Loading Requirements and Bulk, Yard, and Space

Village Planner Kate Portillo provides some background on the property, its proposed use, and recommendations from the Planning and Zoning

Commission. Comments and questions are made by President Garvey and Trustees Gilhooley, Kaluzny, Ketchmark, Cote, Narimatsu, Hendricks, and Gilhooley. Village Manager Tim Wiberg provides some clarification to the Village Board. The applicants respond to the questions and comments regarding parking, snow storage, and maximum amount of units from the Village Board.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Barbara Dahm comments on parking availability and snow removal. Kara Lesson who lives next to the property discusses the impact on neighbors for this proposal regarding flooding and snow removal. Gale Barren lives next to the property at 8900 Windemere discusses parking lot spaces and parking lot lighting.
