Stars Lose Final Road Game

The Dominican University women's basketball team played their final road game of the year at Illinois Tech. 

Results:
IIT: 56
Dominican:42

How it Happened:
-Dominican came out of the gates shooting 33% from the floor, and 40% from behind the arc.
-DU tightened up on defense in the second quarter, holding the Scarlet Hawks to 7 points. 
-The Stars went into halftime with a 32-28 lead. 
-Dominican was unable to get the scoring going in the third quarter only scoring 9 points behind 22% shooting from the floor. 
-DU made a good run in the fourth quarter shooting 37% from the floor and scoring 12 points. 
-The main factor in this game was at the free throw line with DU just making 3 of their 14 attempts. 
-The Stars did win the points in the paint battle 32-28. 

Shining Stars:
-Freshman Kameron Goodman had career high in points with 25. 
-Freshman Mariangley Velez led the team with 13 rebounds, and 5 of them coming on the offensive side of the floor. 
-Freshman Payton Allen shot 50% from behind the arc leading to 9 points. 

Leading the Way:
Points: Goodman (25)
Rebounds: Velez (13)
Assists: Goodman, Allen (4) 
Steals: Goodman (4)
Blocks: Hayes, (2)

What's Next:
Dominican University women's basketball team will be back in action Saturday afternoon for their final game of the season against Division Street Rival Concordia Chicago. Tip-off will be at 2:00 p.m.
