Village of Forest Park Village Board met Oct. 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Hoskins led all assembled in the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Commissioners Novak, Byrnes, Voogd and Mayor Hoskins answered the Roll Call. Commissioner Nero was absent.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS

It was moved by Commissioner Byrnes and seconded by Commissioner Voogd that the minutes from the September 23, 2019, Regular Meeting of the Village Council be approved without reading as each member has received a copy thereof.

AYES: Commissioners Byrnes, Voogd and Mayor Hoskins

ABSTAIN: Commissioner Novak

ABSENT: Commissioner Nero

PUBLIC COMMENT

COMMUNICATIONS:

DEPARTMENT REPORTS:

The Public Works Department submitted its Summer/Fall Report.

APPROVAL OF BILLS:

APPROVAL OF BILLS:

It was moved by Commissioner Novak and seconded by Commissioner Voogd that the Resolution for the payment of bills be adopted. The Commissioner of Accounts and Finance has reviewed the bills as applicable to each department and found the aggregate amounts to be correct and recommends payment when funds are available. The bills totaled $1,365,746.35.

It was moved by Commissioner Byrnes and seconded by Commissioner Voogd that the Ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a lease agreement and a maintenance agreement for the lease and maintenance of Xerox copiers be adopted.

It was moved by Commissioner Novak and seconded by Commissioner Voogd that the Ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Master Pole Attachment Agreement and supplement for use of certain village infrastructure in rights-of-way by and between New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC and the Village of Forest park, Illinois be adopted.

It was moved by Commissioner Novak and seconded by Commissioner Voogd that the Resolution approving and authorizing the execution of an amendment to the Mobile Stroke Unit Service Agreement for a Mobile Stroke Diagnostic and Treatment Unit by and between Rush University Medical Center and the Village of Forest Park be adopted.

R-67-19 RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO MOBILE STROKE UNIT SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH RUSH UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER APPROVED

It was moved by Commissioner Byrnes and seconded by Commissioner Voogd to approve the 2020 Village of Forest Park Council Meeting Schedule as presented.

The motion carried.

It was moved by Commissioner Byrnes and seconded by Commissioner Novak to direct the Forest Park Board of Fire and Police Commissioners to appoint one candidate from its Police Lieutenant Eligibility List to fill a vacancy.

BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS DIRECTED TO PROMOTE ONE POLICE LIEUTENANT

ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT:

None

COMMISSIONER’S REPORTS:

Commissioner Byrnes stated that there are a lot of events coming up in the near future. The Cindy Lyons Health Fair is on October 23rd from 11-1:00 at the Community Center, the Casket Races are on October 26th and Trick-or-Treating is on October 31st.

Mayor Hoskins reported that the village held their first-ever Hispanic Heritage event on October 5th. The Mayor thanked staff for all their hard work and noted that all funding was provided through private sources through the business community. The event was a success, attended by many residents and commissioners. The Mayor added that now, more than ever, Forest Park is becoming a diverse village and these types of events promote a sense of civic pride in the community. Last, the village recently received some attention from the media related to rodents. Mayor Hoskins urged all residents to clean up their property and especially to clean up after pets. This will help will help to prevent problems with rodents and between neighbors as well.

There being no further business to be addressed, Commissioner Voogd moved and Commissioner Byrnes seconded to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried.

Mayor Hoskins declared the meeting adjourned at 7:18 P.M.
