Analysis: Franklin Park pays $5.08 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Franklin Park Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.2 percent of the $2,180,696 the Franklin Park Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.08 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Franklin Park contributed $1,814,047 to the fund, which saw a $2,060 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $356,782, or 16.4 percent, in 2016. Another $9,867 came from other unspecified sources.
