The calls in Berwyn included 120 fires - 51 structure fires, 21 vehicle fires and 36 other fires. The fire department also responded to 12 calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $767,520 in fire loss - or about $6,396 per fire.
The department also received 684 false calls, including six malicious calls and 678 other false calls.
The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death. Additionally, five fire service member were injured in non fire-related incidents.
The Berwyn Fire, which has 81 active employees and 77 retired or inactive employees, was $5,681,210 in debt as of December 2015, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $47,343 for every fire in 2016.
