At a recent meeting, the Forest Park Village Council heard a presentation from Business Districts Inc. on development activity in progress around the village.
The village council meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the Council Chambers on the lower level of Village Hall.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
It was moved by Commissioner Mannix and seconded by Commissioner Entler that the minutes from the June 27, 2016, Regular Meeting of the Village Council be approved without reading as each member has received a copy thereof and found same to be correct.

It was moved by Commissioner Mannix and seconded by Commissioner Byrnes that the Resolution for the payment of bills be adopted. The Commissioner of Accounts and Finance has reviewed the bills as applicable to each department and found the aggregate amounts to be correct and recommends payment when funds are available. The bills totaled $302,211.08.

Ms. Bridget Lane of Business Districts Inc. gave a presentation outlining the Economic Development activities that occurred during the past month. These activities included meeting with the Chamber to define responsibilities, researching retail sales in 2015, interviewing local and national commercial brokers, and a first draft of a Madison Street marketing sheet to be used by brokers to promote space in Forest Park.
It was moved by Commissioner Mannix and seconded by Commissioner Entler that the Resolution approving the execution of Intergovernmental Agreements by and between the Village of Forest Park and the Brookfield-North Riverside Water Commission to provide for the installation of a water main and for the provision of an emergency water supply connection be adopted.

Ms. Chris Everett of Everett Wealth Solutions requested
permission to host a tented, multi-chamber Business AfterHours event on September 22nd, on Marengo between Madison and the east-west alley south of Madison. There were no objections and the clerk was instructed to notify Ms. Everett and to obtain the proper agreements, indemnifications and insurance. Mr. Thomas B. Keefner of the Forest Park Rotary Club requested permission to display banners promoting their Inaugural Dodgeball Tournament on August 13, 2016. There were no objections and the clerk was instructed to notify Mr. Keefner of the approval.

COMMISSIONER’S REPORTS:
Commissioner Mannix reported that the Forest Park Rotary Club is holding a Dodgeball Tournament on August 13th at the Park district. More information can be found at FPDodge.com. All proceeds will be donated to charity.
Commissioner Novak wished the Chamber good luck and success this weekend with Music Fest.
Mayor Calderone reported the following:
• The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) had notified the village that they will discontinue the provision of free rain barrels at the end of 2016. This program was very popular in Forest Park and Mayor Calderone urged anyone who wants to participate to do so before the program ends in December.
• Music Fest will be held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday along Madison Street between Desplaines and Circle. There is a great lineup scheduled.
• The village is hosting its first Vet Fest to honor veterans who have served or are currently serving in any branch of the armed forces. Vet Fest will be held on July 23rd from noon to 10:00 p.m., with entertainment, food and services for veterans. Mayor Calderone recognized organizers, Mike Thompson, Purple Heart recipient, Commissioner Joe Byrnes and Community Center Director, Karen Dylewski for all of their efforts.
• The village is holding a Video Gaming Forum tomorrow at 6:30 in the lower level of Village Hall.
All are welcome.

There being no further business to be addressed, Commissioner Mannix moved and Commissioner Byrnes seconded to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Calderone declared the meeting adjourned at 7:47 P.M.
