Starting September 8, the north side entrance of the Congress Park Metra Station will be temporarily closed for construction. The closure is part of a project to improve pedestrian access and safety at the station. The work is expected to last through the end of September, after which normal access will resume.

During the construction period, additional parking will be available on the south side of the station at 9500 Ogden Ave., located at the northwest corner of Ogden and DuBois. This lot is owned by the Village. Commuters are advised to use this temporary parking option as needed.

Metra users are also encouraged to consider alternative stations, such as Prairie Avenue and Hollywood Avenue (Zoo Stop), until construction concludes at Congress Park.

The planned improvements include site excavation, replacement of concrete curbs and sidewalks, drainage upgrades, installation of ADA-compliant entrances, new pedestrian lighting along pathways, landscaping restoration, and related work.

For questions or concerns during construction, Daniel O’Malley from Edwin Hancock Engineering can be reached by email at domalley@ehancock.com or by phone at 630-864-7081. Cari Sheehan from Brookfield Public Works is also available at csheehan@brookfieldil.gov or by phone at 708-485-2540.
