RoadSafe, a contractor working for BNSF, has notified the Village of Brookfield that the Prairie Avenue grade crossing will be closed for repairs. The closure is scheduled to begin on Friday, August 15 at 8 a.m. and continue until Saturday, August 16 at 2 p.m.
During this period, vehicles traveling north or south will need to use Maple Avenue as a detour route. Residents and drivers are advised to plan ahead and expect possible delays while the work is underway.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding as these important repairs are completed," according to the announcement from RoadSafe.
