The Brookfield Avenue and McCormick Avenue intersection will be closed to traffic from Friday, August 15 through the weekend as pavement patching work continues. The closure is necessary because of the size and location of a patch at the north portion of the intersection.
According to the Village of Brookfield, contractors have been able to keep two-way traffic open for most of the street improvement project by shifting vehicles into parking lanes while concrete cures. However, this particular section requires a full closure.
During the closure, motorists will not be able to turn northbound onto McCormick Avenue from Brookfield Avenue or access Brookfield Avenue from McCormick Avenue. A “Road Closed to Through Traffic” sign will be placed at Parkview and McCormick, and “No Turn” signs will be posted on Brookfield Avenue approaching McCormick Avenue.
Brookfield Avenue itself will remain open for two-way traffic during this period.
