The Department of Public Works has announced the commencement of fire hydrant flushing across the village, a routine part of its maintenance program. This process is essential for maintaining water quality and ensuring the reliability of the water system.

Residents are advised to check the attached map for scheduled flushing areas. Following hydrant flushing in your area, there may be temporary discoloration of the water. Although the water remains safe to use, it is recommended to run a non-aerated faucet—such as a bathtub or basement utility sink—until the water clears, particularly before doing laundry or consuming it.

"We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to uphold the highest standards of water quality in our community," stated the department.
