Brookfield Village Manager Timothy Wiberg has announced the appointment of Lauren Moore as the new Director of Public Works for the village. Moore, who currently serves as Operations and Logistics Coordinator for Public Works and Utilities in Bloomingdale, will assume her new role on March 24.

"We are excited to welcome Lauren Moore as Brookfield’s new Director of Public Works,” said Wiberg. “With over 20 years of experience in public works, Lauren has proven herself as a strong leader within the department. Her extensive knowledge in all areas of public works operations, from budgeting and capital improvements to setting departmental policies and establishing safety standards, will be a tremendous asset to our community. We look forward to the positive impact she will make in Brookfield."

Moore began her career with Bloomingdale's public works department as a seasonal laborer in 2001 and became a full-time Utilities Distribution Maintenance Worker in 2005. She was promoted to her current position in 2014.

In her role at Bloomingdale, Moore handles responsibilities such as budgeting, strategic planning, prioritizing capital improvements, securing grant funding, conducting collective bargaining research, screening job candidates and hiring employees, managing seasonal staff, and establishing workplace safety culture principles.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to serve as Public Works Director in Brookfield,” Moore stated. “I look forward to leading Brookfield's exceptional public works team to make a lasting impact on the community."

Moore holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix. She also possesses graduate certificates in Human Resources Management and Public Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
