The Lyons Village Hall will be closed on Tuesday, February 4, at noon and all day Wednesday, February 5, in honor of Former Mayor Kenneth K. Getty. Garbage pickup services will continue as usual during this period. The Board of Trustees has announced that their meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 4th will not take place.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Kenneth K. Getty are planned over two days. On Tuesday, February 4, visitation is set from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a service at 7:00 PM at Tower Home for Funerals located at 4007 Joliet Ave., Lyons, IL.
On Wednesday, February 5, a funeral service will be held at St. John’s United Church of Christ at 11:00 AM. The church is situated at 4500 Prescott Ave., Lyons, IL. Following the service, interment will occur immediately at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Stickney, IL.
The funeral procession route includes traveling south on Prescott Ave to 47th St., west on 47th St. to Lawndale Ave., north on Lawndale Ave to Ogden Ave., east on Ogden Ave to 39th St., east on 39th St. to Oak Park Ave., and finally south on Oak Park Ave to Mount Auburn Cemetery.
