Commuter Lot 8 Green Parking Lot construction continued last week. The General Contractor (MYS) completed the removal of the existing aggregate base course. MYS removed the existing curb and gutter, exposed aggregate sidewalk, and salvaged the brick pavers. The two staircases that are to be reconfigured have been removed. Due to heavy rain last Thursday, the fine grading and placement of stone base were not completed.

This week, MYS will excavate additional clay material and install the new stone base on the geotextile fabric early. The concrete work will begin mid-week with the installation of the curb and gutters on the south side of the parking lot.

Residents are reminded to use the west staircase to access the Metra platform. All other staircases are within the construction work zone and are closed until project completion.

The Village of Riverside acknowledges the disruption and inconvenience caused by this construction project and appreciates residents' patience and cooperation. For questions or concerns, contact Village Engineer Tracy Wais at (847) 878-0501 or Twais@cbbel.com. Updates can be found on the Village website Notify Me • Riverside, IL • CivicEngage, where residents can also sign up for E-Flash notifications.
