The president of a leading national pro-family organization says River Forest schools' active promotion of homosexuality to elementary and middle school students is a "form of sexual abuse."

Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project, said parents should stand up to River Forest District 90 staff forcing their children to participate in a "walk" this week to honor and celebrate homosexual sex.

"At this point, what is the LGBTQWHATEVER argument against pedophilia? They groom children and openly encourage children to talk about and even explore their sexuality." Schilling said. "To normal people that’s not just weird, that’s a form of sexual abuse. It’s going to take upset parents to stand up against these sick people."

At the walk, on Mon. June 3, Lincoln School Principal Casey Godfrey led his students, ages 6-10, in a ceremony honoring the "Progress Pride Flag," created in 1978 to "celebrate members of the gay and lesbian political movement."

Godfrey, who started at Lincoln in 2015, has been leading his students in the annual pro-homosexual walk since 2022.

In 2022, Willard Elementary School in River Forest started a gay, lesbian, bisexual and "trans-sexual" club for its students ages 7-10.

A 2023 report by the Defense of Freedom Institute said complaints alleging sexual violence against students in public K-12 schools to the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) tripled between 2010 and 2019.

A City Journal analysis of the report sad that "when public school employees are investigated for sexual abuse, many school districts are under no legal obligation to notify parents or even note the investigation in the employee’s personnel file, allowing school administrators "to pawn off known abusers to different schools and districts in a phenomenon called ‘passing the trash.'"

A 2023 report by the Chicago Public Schools' Office of the Inspector General said "it received more than 600 'adult on student' misconduct allegations for the 2021-22 school year, substantiating more than half of them and initiating criminal charges in 16 cases."

They included a Chicago Public Schools' vendor who "asked a fourth-grade student why her lips were chapped, and then stated that the student’s lips were chapped because she was 'sucking dick.'

The American Principles Project "wants to make the family the most powerful, well-represented special interest group in Washington, D.C."

Schilling is a native of Geneseo in western Illinois and the son of former U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling (R-IL).

River Forest School District 90 has 1,363 students in two elementary schools and one middle school.

In 2023, 33.3 percent of River Forest District 90 students tested below grade level on the statewide English examination, and 40 percent were below grade level according to the statewide examination in mathematics, according to the Illinois State Board of Education. The district spends $20,510 per student.
