The Brookfield Police Department has announced the successful conclusion of its Cop on a Rooftop event, held on Friday, May 17. The event is part of the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraising efforts and raised $4,308.
Officer Freddy Vargas coordinated the event, with participation from many officers, volunteers, sponsors, and donors. Contributions will support Special Olympics Illinois by providing funding for sports training and competition opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
"Together, we are making a significant impact and helping to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all," stated the department. "Thank you for standing with us and for your continued support of this important cause."
