The Village of Oak Park will be hosting a Women in Leadership Symposium featuring a distinguished panel of community leaders. The event aims to celebrate diverse voices and provide inspiring insights to attendees. The panelists include Dr. Susan Buchanan, Cheryl Potts, Lucia Robinson, Village President Vicki Scaman, and Dr. Ushma Shah. The discussion will be moderated by local organizer Sydney Jackson.
Dr. Susan Buchanan, a medical doctor and public health expert, has been dedicated to improving health and safety in the workplace for vulnerable workers. Cheryl Potts, the new Executive Director of the Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park Township, brings over 20 years of experience in human services to her role. Lucia Robinson, a Village Trustee, has a background in law and financial industry with a focus on government regulation. Vicki Scaman, the Village President, excels at building partnerships to advance Oak Park's goals for a more equitable and sustainable future. Dr. Ushma Shah, the superintendent of Oak Park Elementary School District 97, brings over three decades of experience in public education to the community.
The symposium is open to the public with free admission, but space is limited. Interested attendees are encouraged to register online or contact the organizers for more information. The event will take place at the CRC with doors opening at 9:30 a.m. and the program starting at 10 a.m.
