Oak Park Police Department shares updates on police activity, bike plan hearings, and charity ride

The Oak Park Police Department has issued several public communications this week addressing recent police activity, upcoming community engagement opportunities regarding local transportation planning, and a community event supporting law enforcement families.

On July 11, 2025, the department informed residents that "The latest summary of police activity is now posted at https://t.co/Fb7Et5P47d. https://t.co/t6uigOEudR". This update provides access to current information on incidents and responses within the community.

Later the same day, on July 11, 2025, the department announced two open houses and public hearings for the Oak Park Bike Plan Update: "The Village will conduct two open houses and public hearings on the #OakPark Bike Plan Update in July, offering opportunities for community members to have questions answered by Village staff and to weigh in on the plan before it comes before the Village Board for a vote. The https://t.co/xam8XwdKL3". These sessions are designed to encourage resident participation in shaping local cycling infrastructure prior to final approval by village officials.

On July 13, 2025, the department called for community support during a charity cycling event: "Today is the day, please come out and show your support! Community members are invited to line Madison Street from Harlem Avenue to Lombard Avenue as the 21st annual Cycle Across Illinois bicycle ride travels through Oak Park. The ride benefits Illinois Chapter, Concerns of https://t.co/MTAHPdF0Bw". The event supports the Illinois Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), an organization that assists families of fallen officers.
