1. Bee City USA next step: Media Release that VOFP is a Bee City USA. Updating the Tree Board Village website to reflect official Bee City USA designation, adding Bee City USA logo (Formatted with VOFP name) to VOFP website, adding VOFP Bee City USA ordinance, and Bee Committee member names.
2. SFPFD Smolen: Grants update
a. ComEd Grant: site location, pollinator plants.
b. IRA Grant: Location, Community outreach, Arborist/tree worker training, site tree location needs with committee members
c. Varak Bosnoian, CRTI Stewardship Coordinator from The Morton Arboretum reached out to SFPFD Smolen with a donation of 45 trees and 45 mulch bags to be available at the future Arbor Day event at Franklin Park library. Planting locations to be determined
3. High School Speakers Event:
a. Varak Bosnoian, CRTI Stewardship Coordinator from The Morton Arboretum
b. Pete Soltesz: Cook/Dupage Beekeepers Association, Bees The Cook-DuPage Beekeepers Association promotes Bee interest, and educational beekeeping opportunities.
c. Nasser Rafidia: Village of Franklin Park, Utilities Department - Sewer and Water Division, on the importance of water
d. Carol Elkins Great Lakes Region Ambassador Xerces Society (Bee City USA) The Xerces Society of Invertebrate Conservation
e. Elli Coski, Senior Project Manager at Metro Strategies Group (Manages environmental, economic development, and transportation projects)
4. Post Seed Swap event report (February 10th, 2024) at North Park
5. Upcoming event dates requiring Tree Board and Bee Committee visibility:

V. OTHER BUSINESS/ ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. VOFP Smolen was contacted by Lucille Zucchero, Village Clerk of the Village of Addison, wanting to learn about all we're doing, and the Bee City USA designation. Andy, Monika and I will attend the Women’s Club meeting in March.
