City of Northlake City Council met Oct. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: Alderman Straube

Alderman Feldmann

Alderman Contreras

Alderman Sosa

Alderman Grochowski

PRESENT VIA CONFERENCE BRIDGE: Alderman Patti

Alderman Johnson

ABSENT: Alderman Urbina

OTHERS PRESENT: Ken Beres, Chief Of Police

Tony Faciano, Superintendent Public Works

Carol Lampard, Finance Director

Mark Sterk, City Attorney

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on September 11, 2023. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on September 11, 2023; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. Alderman Feldmann abstained.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2023 CARRIED

Alderman Sosa made a motion to accept the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor.

ROLL CALL: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Sosa, Johnson, Grochowski And Patti

ABSENT: Alderman Urbina

NAYS: None

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin talked about all gender bathrooms. It is not mandatory at this time. If you do have all gender bathrooms you have to have separate stalls and no urinals. There was a discussion regarding the purchases of 2 new Dodge Durango Police vehicles. Mayor Sherwin reminded everyone about the dinner with Chuy Garcia.

Alderman Straube made a motion to release Executive Minutes from February 13, 2023, March 20, 2023, April 3, 2023 and June 12, 2023; seconded by Alderman Sosa. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ABSENT: Alderman Urbina

NAYS: None

MOTION TO RELEASE EXECUTIVE MINUTES FROM FEBRUARY 13, 2023, MARCH 20, 2023, APRIL 3, 2023 AND JUNE 12, 2023 CARRIED

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve Ordinance O-16-2023; An Ordinance Annexing Certain Territory to the City of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois (10446 Lyndale); seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Sosa, Johnson, Grochowski And Patti

ABSENT: Alderman Urbina

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-16-2023; AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS (10446 LYNDALE) CARRIED

Alderman Straube made a motion to approve Memorandum of Agreement Between the City of Northlake and the Service Employees International Union, Local 73; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ABSENT: Alderman Urbina

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE AND THE SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION, LOCAL 73 CARRIED

Alderman Feldmann made a motion to approve the purchase of a 2023 Ford F550 Class 5 Snow and Ice Truck in the amount of $163,237.06; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ABSENT: Alderman Urbina

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A 2023 FORD F550 CLASS 5 SNOW AND ICE TRUCK IN THE AMOUNT OF $163,237.06 CARRIED

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve Ordinance O-17-2023; An Ordinance Amending Section 3-29-8 of the Northlake City Code Regarding the Location and Operation Restrictions for Mobile Food Vehicles; seconded by Alderman Sosa. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ABSENT: Alderman Urbina

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-17-2023; AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3-29-8 OF THE NORTHLAKE CITY CODE REGARDING THE LOCATION AND OPERATION RESTRICTIONS FOR MOBILE FOOD VEHICLES CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Ordinance O-18-2023; An Ordinance Establishing Miscellaneous Ordinance Violations and Amending Title 5 of the Northlake City Code; seconded by Alderman Sosa. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Sosa, Johnson, Grochowski And Patti

ABSENT: Alderman Urbina

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-18-2023; AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING MISCELLANEOUS ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS AND AMENDING TITLE 5 OF THE NORTHLAKE CITY CODE CARRIED

There being no further business, Alderman Feldmann made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
