Village of Western Springs President and Board of Trustees met Aug. 28.

SPECIAL MEETING

Call to Order, 7:03 p.m.

The Board of Trustees met on July 24, 2023, for the first part of the Strategic Planning Session of the Board of Trustees. At that time, Village Manager Baer and Deputy Village

CALL TO ORDER 

The meeting opened at 7:03 p.m.

CITIZEN COMMENTS 

There were none.

1) STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION 

Manager Biernacki reviewed the Strategic Planning Process used by the Village during the past

few years. Village Manager Baer, Deputy Village Manager Biernacki and the Directors then presented information on progress made on the existing short-term and long-term goals which were previously identified by the Board during the Strategic Plan process in September of 2019 and then reviewed in May of 2022.

Village Manager Baer indicated that the strategic plan is based on Board input on long- and short-term goals and potential projects. This evening's workshop meeting is designed to allow for additional Village Board discussion of financial stability, organizational development, community engagement, economic development, and infrastructure improvements. The Board reviewed short-term (1-3 years) and long-term (3-5 years) goals in the discussion.

Village President Rudolph thanked the Board for the discussion and for providing direction to staff for the 2023/2024 plan.

ADJOURN 

Trustee Tyrrell moved, seconded by Nawrocki, to adjourn the Board meeting. The motion passed on a unanimous voice vote.

The meeting adjourned at 8:56 p.m.
