The Village of La Grange has announced openings for several positions across its departments.
The La Grange Fire Department is looking to hire a part-time Fire Inspector. The person in this role will work with the Fire Chief and the Fire Prevention Bureau Captain to develop and carry out a fire inspection program, as well as assist with fire prevention outreach and education. According to the department, the Fire Inspector will "play a critical role in advancing the fire prevention objectives of the Department, working closely with the Fire Chief and Fire Prevention Bureau Captain to develop and implement a comprehensive inspection program and support fire prevention outreach and education."
The Finance Department is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager. The job posting states: "Experienced and motivated finance professionals are encouraged to explore this great opportunity to take on a key leadership role in an organization that values innovation, professionalism, friendliness, and teamwork."
In Public Works, there is an opening for a full-time Foreperson. This position is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, supervising crew members, and ensuring public works services are delivered safely and efficiently. The department notes that "the ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to serving the community."
The Police Department is hiring part-time Police Officers. These officers will "protect the lives, persons and property of the citizens of the Village of La Grange through evenhanded enforcement of laws and ordinances." Under the supervision of Police Sergeants, these positions involve general police work and traffic enforcement.
