Village of Brookfield Village Board met June 12.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

The committee reviewed the minutes of the May 15, 2023 meeting. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 15, 2023 meeting; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The minutes were approved.

Mayor Sherwin presented the Warrants and Vouchers. Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin presented the Commission Expenditures. Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the Commission Expenditures; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Under New Business:

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve Resolution R-11-2023; A Resolution Approving an Expenditure of Matching Funds for Improvements to Parkview Drive Bridge and Palmer Avenue Bridge Section Number 20-00098-000-BR Cook County, Illinois. Alderman Feldmann made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve Resolution R-12-2023; A Resolution of the City of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois, Authorizing a County of Cook No Cash Bid Program Application to Secure a Tax Certificate of Purchase for the Nonpayment of Real Estate Taxes on Certain Parcels of Real Property. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve Resolution R-13-2023; A Resolution Approving the Intergovernmental Agreement by and Between the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago for the Design, Construction, Operation and Maintenance of the Millennium Park Permeable Parking Lot Project Northlake, IL. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve Ordinance O-09-2023; An Ordinance Proposing the Establishment of Special Service Area No. 3 by the City of Northlake for the Condominium Building Located at 23 King Arthur Court and Providing for a Public Hearing and Other Procedures in Connection Therewith. This is for replacement of the balconies at that location. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve the 2023/24 Blue Cross Blue Shield/Metlife Group Benefit Renewals. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve the Engineer’s Recommendation to Award the Bid to Herlihy Mid-Continent Company in the amount of $924,346.07 for the Hirsch Street Bridge Replacement Project. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Sosa. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve Ordinance O-10-2023; An Ordinance Establishing Additional Noise Restrictions and Amending Section 4-4C-2 of the Northlake City Code. Alderman Feldmann made a motion to amend the time in Ordinance O-10-2023 back to 10:00 pm; seconded by Alderman Patti. Alderman Feldmann made a motion to approve the Ordinance as amended; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin stated the city received a $3,000,000 grant from Senator Harmon for the work on Railroad Avenue. This work will be postponed until the bridge work on Palmer is complete in order to properly facilitate the detour of traffic. The city also received grants in the amount of $500,000 for capital projects and $125,000 for a new generator for City Hall.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.
