Township of Proviso Township Board met March 15

1. CALL TO ORDER
The Board of Township Trustees of the Township of Proviso met at the Office of the Township Clerk, 4565 Harrison Street, Hillside, IL 60162 on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
2. ROLL CALL
Supervisor Corrigan called the meeting to order at 5:37 p.m. and on a roll call The following responded present: Trustees Thomas, Chavez, Herrell, Christopher, Supervisor Corrigan. Also, present were Attorney Durkin, Clerk Williams, Craig Hanson, Fleet Manager, Jorge Velazquez, Senior Services Director.
3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Supervisor Corrigan led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Trustee Thomas moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher that the Board of Trustees approve the minutes to the Township Board Meeting held on March 6, 2023. Roll Call Vote #1

Absent: None

5. APPROVAL OF BILLS
Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez that the Board of Trustees approve payment of the bills submitted for March 1, 2023 – March 15, 2023. Roll Call Vote #2

6. ATTORNEY’S REPORT
None
7. CLOSED SESSION
None
8. OLD BUSINESS
A. Supervisor’s Report – No warrants. First meeting in April moved to Tuesday, April 11 at 5:30 pm before the Annual Town Meeting begins. Supervisor Corrigan will attend VCP
B. Clerk’s Report – Reminder to complete Statement of Ethics before May 1
C. Trustee’s Report – None
D. Elected Officials Report – None
E. Staff Report – Craig Hanson, Fleet Manager, two bad accidents within a few weeks; one on 2/23/23 and one on 3/8/23. Trustee Thomas witnessed one and assisted the Township driver. No tickets were issued in the first accident; the non-Township party received a ticket on the 3/8/23 accident.
Lorenzo Webber, Director of Youth Services, discussed opportunities with Triton College—also, information on Mental Health Task Force.
Jorge Velazquez, Director of Senior Services, told everyone that Geri Bentel retired after being with the Township since 2008.
9. NEW BUSINESS
A. Consideration to approve specific personnel matters requiring board action.
10. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Chris Donovan, 733 S. Elmwood, Oak Park, IL 60304. Provided report showing Municipalities with the lowest tax collection rates. Maywood has a very low collection rate. Also included were all the villages within Proviso Township showing Tax Year 2021 collections, taxable properties, total billed and total paid.
11. ADJOURNMENT
Trustee Christopher moved seconded by Trustee Herrell that the Board of Trustees adjourns the meeting at 6:00 p.m.
