City of Northlake Finance & Rules Committee of the Whole met Oct. 3.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: Alderman Straube

Alderman Feldmann

Alderman Contreras

Alderman Johnson

Alderman Urbina

Alderman Patti

Alderman Grochowski

ABSENT: Alderman Garcia

OTHERS PRESENT: Ken Beres, Chief Of Police

Tony Faciano, Superintendent Public Works

The committee reviewed the minutes of the September 12, 2022 meeting. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 12, 2022 meeting; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The minutes were approved.

Mayor Sherwin presented the Warrants and Vouchers. Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve Ordinance O-14-2022; An Ordinance Amending Section 1-11-2 of the Northlake City Code to Redistrict the Wards of the City of Northlake and Adopting an Official Ward Map Following the 2020 Decennial Census. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve Resolution R-17-2022; A Resolution Authorizing an Application for the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) for the Palmer Avenue Shared Use Path and Pedestrian Bridge Project, Cook County, Illinois. Alderman Straube made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve the Drone Purchase Proposal for the Police Department. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin noted the city will be one of the recipients of a settlement sum from an opioid class action lawsuit. This sum would be about $1,800.00 per year for a twenty-year period, which would be applied to the cost of Narcan supplies for the police department.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.
