Village of Franklin Park Zoning Board of Appeals Met October 7

Village of Franklin Park Zoning Board of Appeals met Oct. 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

1. The regularly scheduled meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

2. A quorum was present. Bruce Boreson, Kathy Mennella, Wayne Bernacki, Frank Grieashamer, Jenny Corral, Rhonda Santana, Chairman Mark Cwik, Lisa Manzo (Secretary), Nick Walny (Village Planner). All members were present.

3. Member Grieashamer made a motion to accept the minutes of September 2, 2020. The motion was seconded by Member Mennella and approved to place them on file as presented.

4. Old Business: None.

5. New Business: None

6. Staff Update:

Nick Walny gave the members a brief presentation on the types of projects that the staff in Community Development has been working on the last few months. He mentioned that they are assisting small businesses with various resources to keep their businesses going. For example, outdoor café permits. He stated that they are working on applying for various Grants for the Village; RTA and DCEO grants. He stated that ground has broken on the new Luxury Apartment project at 9660 Franklin Avenue. This is going to be a 110 unit, six (6) story apartment building with four (4) store fronts. Staff is also working on a downtown parking study to provide additional parking spaces.

7. Public Comment: None.

8. A motion was made by Member Grieashamer to adjourn the meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals. It was seconded by Member Mennella. All in favor. Motion carried.

The meeting adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
