Analysis: Bellwood pays $6.17 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Bellwood Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86.1 percent of the $2,498,678 the Bellwood Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.17 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Bellwood contributed $2,150,180 to the fund, which saw a $169,722 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $348,412, or 13.9 percent, in 2018. Another $86 came from other unspecified sources.
