Analysis: Brookfield pays $4.70 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Brookfield Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.4 percent of the $2,235,186 the Brookfield Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.70 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Brookfield contributed $1,840,703 to the fund, which saw a $244,441 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $390,824, or 17.5 percent, in 2018. Another $3,659 came from other unspecified sources.
