Analysis: Cicero pays $5.41 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Cicero Firefighters' Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.6 percent of the $4,509,169 the Cicero Firefighters' Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.41 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Cicero contributed $3,814,229 to the fund, which saw a $1,564,072 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $704,715, or 15.6 percent, in 2018.
