Analysis: River Forest pays $6.38 for every $1 pensioners contribute to River Forest Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85.8 percent of the $1,321,661 the River Forest Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.38 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, River Forest contributed $1,133,899 to the fund, which saw a $61,676 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $177,633, or 13.4 percent, in 2018. Another $10,129 came from other unspecified sources.
