Analysis: River Forest pays $5.09 for every $1 pensioners contribute to River Forest Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85 percent of the $1,640,558 the River Forest Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.09 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, River Forest contributed $1,394,597 to the fund, which saw a $40,280 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $273,961, or 16.7 percent, in 2018.
