Analysis: Schiller Park pays $5.93 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Schiller Park Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85.1 percent of the $1,572,091 the Schiller Park Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.93 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Schiller Park contributed $1,338,008 to the fund, which saw a $158,640 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $225,364, or 14.3 percent, in 2018. Another $8,719 came from other unspecified sources.
