CITY OF BERWYN: Coffee With A Cop Community Dialogue Series Recap

Coffee

City of Berwyn issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.

The Berwyn Police Department’s Coffee With A Cop community dialogue series had a great turnout this past Saturday at the McDonald’s located on 6401 W. Cermak Road.

Thank you to the amazing staff at McDonald’s who provided free coffee from their new 100% Columbian Medium Roast Coffee, pumpkin pie, and Sausage McMuffin With Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwiches.

Many residents asked how the series came to be. Here’s a little bit of the background on Coffee with a Cop in Berwyn:

Coffee with a Cop in Berwyn is celebrating its two year anniversary as a creative and comfortable way for residents to interact with their local police officers. We make it clear that there are no prepared speeches, no set agenda or timeline, just good conversation to hear about what’s important to you in your neighborhood.

In 2017, three members of the Berwyn Police Department (Division Commander Frank Cimaglia, Unit Commander Michael Cirolia, Manager of Emergency Communications Wayne Sedore) collaborated with police departments across the country at the American Crime Prevention Institute’s Crime Prevention through Community Engagement Seminar. From this, Coffee with a Cop and the successful #9PMRoutine social media campaign were added to Berwyn’s existing crime prevention initiatives.
