An open house event for the South La Grange Road Corridor Study will take place on Monday, November 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Seventh Avenue School in La Grange, Illinois.

The Village of La Grange is collaborating with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to develop a plan aimed at improving the South La Grange Road corridor. The focus of this effort is to enhance safety, accessibility, and vibrancy for residents, businesses, and visitors along this significant commercial stretch that connects directly to downtown. The study covers the area from West 47th Street to East Plainfield Road.

According to the announcement, "The Village of La Grange is working with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) on a South La Grange Road Corridor Plan, focused on making this key gateway safer, more accessible, and more vibrant for residents, businesses, and visitors. South La Grange Road is a major commercial area that connects directly to downtown, and this plan will build on the Village’s Comprehensive Plan with more detailed strategies for future growth and improvements. The study area runs from West 47th Street to East Plainfield Road."

Community members are invited to attend the open house or provide feedback online regarding topics such as walking, biking, safe road crossings, preservation of local assets, and redevelopment opportunities. Residents can share their input by using an interactive public input map linked through the “South La Grange Road - Public Input Map” button.

Participation from residents and stakeholders is encouraged as it will contribute to shaping plans for the corridor’s future development.
