City of Northlake issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.
The City of Northlake received the 2019 “Greentelligence” Award from the West Central Municipal Conference at the conference’s annual dinner on June 14th, in recognition of the Addison Creek Wetland Restoration Project.
The award was presented to Mayor Jeffrey T. Sherwin by WGN TV’s Morgan Kolkmeyer, the keynote speaker at the dinner. Close to 700 municipal officials from the West Cook County region were in attendance at the annual dinner.
The creek project restored natural stream flow, improved water quality and provided flood control benefits.
The City of Northlake also received Greentelligence awards in 2010 for energy efficiency measures incorporated in the construction of the new police station and again for the use of recycled materials and energy conservation measures incorporated in City Hall renovations in 2013.
